Nhaveya and Sagar, W Goa

The magnificent expanse of the Indian Ocean was the perfect backdrop for Nhaveya and Sagar's beautiful beach wedding at Goa.

Sun, sand and a starry-eyed couple – these are all that one needs for a delightful destination wedding, and Nhaveya and Sagar’s nuptials had just that. Hosted at W Goa, the wedding featured stunning decor and dramatic couple entries planned beautifully by WeddingSutra Favorite Vogue Luxury Weddings while the happy moments were captured by another WeddingSutra Favorite Dipak Studios. Groom Sagar shares some highlights here.

How We Met 

“Sagar and I met through an arranged marriage setup. Our families connected through a mutual relative and that’s how it all started. Since I was from Chennai and Sagar is from New Delhi, we began conversing via texts at first. What started as few words went up to chats lasting five hours eventually. Our messages then evolved to calls which would go up to 11 hours at a stretch! A week later we met in New Delhi, and we just knew this was meant to be. There was definitely a strong connection that we felt right from the start. Despite being an arranged marriage setup, it felt like we had known each other for a long time.”

Wedding Venue 

“I have always wanted a beach wedding and surprisingly so did Sagar, hence Goa seemed to be an ideal option. Our families finalized Goa and started planning a destination wedding. Out of all the venues that we saw, we picked W Goa as it had all the facilities that we wanted, including a mandap venue with the best ocean view.”

Wedding Functions 

The wedding created an aura of fantasy which was a dream come true for the couple’s parents. With each festivity containing all the elements of a fairy tale, it appeared as though pixie dust was showered around to create an enchanted environ. Right from the theme of the Victorian ballroom at the Sagai to the stunning décor for all ceremonies, trendy dress codes to the perfect music, each feature enhanced the magic of the celebrations.

Sagan Ceremony

Opting for a Victorian ballroom theme, the venue for the Sagan ceremony was decorated with fairy tale elements. The men donned attires dominated by shades of black while the women wore elegant gowns in varied tints. The ring ceremony was given a unique twist as the couple danced and exchanged the rings. Another interesting décor feature was the photobooth that comprised of a balcony just like in classic fairy tales.

Cocktail Party 

The afternoon was spent with the couple dancing their hearts out and enjoying with their loved ones aboard a cruise which featured a live band that belted out popular hits.

Mehndi 

The mehndi function was a vibrant affair executed beautifully by Vogue Luxury Weddings with the couple entering the venue with ‘dhols’ (traditional drums) playing in the background. Bicycles decorated with floral arrangements proved to be the perfect props for guests to take pictures with. Tents were set up on the lawn, and a bangle bar kept the women occupied as well. The bride wore a beautiful olive green lehenga featuring mesh panel embellishments and florals motifs.

Engagement 

A dazzling stage was set up for Nhaveya and Sagar’s engagement, where the couple exchanged the rings and danced to romantic numbers. The decor was quite glitzy as shimmering danglers hung from the ceiling and twigs with neutral blooms made for an enchanting entrance.

Advice For Couples 

“Keep yourself fully involved in the wedding planning as it is your day. It ultimately comes down to what the couple likes or dislikes. Amidst all functions and parties don’t forget to stay calm, keep yourself well hydrated and sleep enough. Live in the moment and enjoy all the love and pampering.”
